Dentures

3D rendering of partial dentures being placed on a lower jaw with missing back teeth Dentures are a removable dental device used to replace lost teeth. They are designed to look like your natural teeth. Dentures are durable and will endure for several decades, although they may need to be redone, replaced, or realigned due to regular wearing. Dentures are categorized into two categories: complete dentures and partial dentures. If you are a candidate for dentures, our skilled team at Hidden Springs Family Dentistry is equipped to aid you in getting the most affordable and finest dentures of your choice.

What Are the Different Types of Dentures?

Full dentures can be "conventional" or "immediate." Once all tooth surfaces have been extracted and the root canal has been cured, conventional full dentures are created. A traditional denture is ready for insertion in the mouth eight to 12 weeks after the teeth have been extracted.

Immediate full dentures are made and placed in the mouth on the same day the teeth are extracted. As a solution, the user does not need to remain without teeth during the healing period.

Partial dentures are substitute teeth for individuals who have lost one or more of their teeth. Partial dentures are removable and comprise a denture base that accurately reflects the gums. The partial denture is then secured to the remaining teeth with a clasp or other retention device.

A prototype of your mouth is used to create partial dentures. Creating a partial denture takes eight to 12 weeks, although this might vary among individuals. It might also be determined by the type of denture and the procedure used by the dentist or lab expert.

The Advantages of Dentures

•  Improved self-confidence - A healthy smile may boost your confidence, but broken or missing teeth might cause you to avoid social gatherings and even to speak with colleagues.
•  Almost no dietary restrictions - Dentures are strong enough to endure almost as much as natural teeth. You will be able to consume your favorite foods again now that you have a full set of teeth.
•  Dentures help to maintain facial structure. Restoring missing teeth may make a big difference in your aesthetics and dental health. The gap left by missing teeth may quickly become a breeding environment for germs, resulting in holes, periodontitis, and dental caries. Not to mention that foodstuff can often remain lodged or caught in those gaps, resulting in bad breath.

Who is a Candidate for Dentures?

Anyone who has lost a considerable number of teeth but still has sufficient healthy gum tissue and jawbone are perfect candidates for dentures. If an individual has two or three missing teeth, a dental bridge could be the perfect strategy.
